Writing task 2 examples from personal experience

Hi,

In Ryan videos I saw that he used examples from personal experience. I thought that we should avoid the examples that start for instance the following way: "I remember when I was younger... " or "For instance, during my studies in China...".

Is it acceptable to use them if I aim for band 8?

Please advise.

It's good to use first person voice when describing your personal experiences. Both the examples you give are good. To get band eight, in terms of task response, it's necessary to answer the question as fully as you can, which includes examples from personal experience, if these are appropriate.
