In many countries, the amount of crime is increasing.
What do you think are the main causes of crime?
How can we deal with those causes?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

In spite of the efforts that lots of nations have exhibited to control crime, the amount of offense is still rising. To effectively tackle this problem, the causes behind it must be thoroughly understood. This essay analyses the main causes, and discusses the way to prevent crime by acting directly on these causes.

Firstly, it is understood that just as crimes are different by nature, the reasons lead to them are various. For example, financial reasons inspire almost all non-violent offences like drug dealing, identity fraud, financial fraud, and also some of the violent offences like rubbery and stealing. Other reasons like conflict, mental instability, accident, and in some case DNA, are responsible for the rest crimes. While these crimes may be more brutal, they are not as prevalent as the ones connected with money. The conclusion, thus, can be safely drawn that money is the number one reason for crime.

What can be done to deter crimes aiming at financial gain is the next question need to be answered. Although only constituting a small part of these crimes, the ones done out of starvation and poverty need to be addressed by enhancing incomes and quality of lives of these people. This is really hard to achieve, but the solution to the rest financial crimes is even harder, for those are mostly committed by people who are not that poor and are simply greedy. However, there are still things can be done. For instance, media should advocate integrity and moderate in life instead of relentlessly campaigning for materialism. These are the only ultimate cures to the issue.

To sum up, as analyzed before, a great proportion of crimes are committed to gain financial benefit, and to solve the problem, we need to eliminate poverty and stop admiring money.

Hello!

Overall, a good essay, but your points are not well-developed. This is particularly true of the solutions. How can the government/society achieve these?

All the best,
David
