using both American and British pronunciation in the speaking

My accent was British ,and I used to pronounce all words like British people. However, I wanted to have more control on my grammar so I adopted to talk like Americans to have more time to think and make less grammatical mistakes in IELTS speaking exam. But some time I pronounce words like British people instead of Americans while speaking.

Could you please let me know whether the rare occasion of not sticking to American accent and pronunciation would harm my score or not?

Thank you very much indeed in advance.
