Topic: Students are given homework every day, some people think it’s good, while others disagree.
Describe both aspects and give your opinion.
To succeed in today’s competitive world, hard work is imperative. Students are no exception to this rule. Therefore, teachers often assign students some homework on a regular basis. However, the productivity of daily homework for students is questionable. Some argue that it is better to have children engaged in daily homework. Others, refute this idea. This essay will expound further on both points of view before drawing a reasoned conclusion.
On the one hand, children who are given regular homework often find themselves in productive activities such as reading coursework or researching for a new project. Such students tend to pass their exams with flying colors. For example, students in my school who were consistent in doing homework always secured top positions in the class. Besides, children who don’t carry out homework everyday are more likely to lose interest in academic studies and are even attracted to indulging in unproductive activities such as watching TV nonstop. Thus, the positive ramification of regular homework can be seen with clarity.
On the other hand, there are many plausible counters to this idea. For instance, daily school assignments may limit the amount of time, children have for outdoor activities hence, impeding their mental and physical growth as a consequence. Thus, it can be seen that regular homework can bring its disadvantages with it. Therefore, it is understandable why some people stand against the idea of regular homework for students.
The pros and cons of daily homework for students are discussed by many. Some hold that daily homework can prevent students from indulging in unhealthy activities while others believe that regular homework can limit leisure time necessary for mental and physical relaxation. Following the analysis of both points of view, I agree with the idea that children should be asked to carry out homework on a daily basis because its merits outweigh the demerits.
