Question: The difference between the rich and poor in the world today seems to be increasing.
What do you think are the causes of this? What, if anything, should be done to stop this from happening.
Answer:
The income gap between the rich and poor has been a common scene for a couple of decades. However, the difference is increasing day by day, which is an alarming situation for the whole world. Many reasons as well as solutions of this problem are present.
At the outset, lack of education among poor people is what holds them back. Furthermore, in many countries education is very costly, and this is why, poor people cannot be educated. As a result, they do not get well-paid jobs and live in deprivation. Moreover, many rich people do not pay taxes which are usually, spent for the prosperity of impoverished people. On the other hand, corruption among the people is another root-cause of this problem. To exemplify, nowadays, bribe is a common scenario in every sector such as in the recruitment of a job. Poor people cannot afford this and as a result, they are not offered the job most of the time.
Various kinds of initiatives can be taken to overcome the circumstances. First of all, education must be free of cost, which will ensure education in every stratum of a nation. Governments and NGOs can commence some attractive advertisements to encourage poor people to be educated. Both the government and private sectors must come forward to create more job opportunities by setting up more factories or by making more workplaces. Moreover, candidates must be prioritized based on their eligibility rather than giving bribe. This will not only ensure the development of a nation but also the people will be encouraged to embrace education. Last but not the least, the rich people must pay taxes as well as donate to various charities which work for the betterment of deprived people. This will help to balance the fiscal condition of every sector. Besides this, banks may provide financial assistance to those, who want to begin new businesses to improve their economic situation.
In conclusion, being a human, everyone has the right to live happily maintaining proper standard, which must be ensured by the government as well as the people of all stages. Thus, the economic differences can be demolished globally.
