Q:Happiness is considered very important in life. Why is it difficult to define? What factors are important in achieving happiness?
Undoubtedly, the importance and value of happiness has been acknowledged by most people, however, definition for happiness is likely to be different according to the comprehension of individuals.
For some people who care about their social status, happiness means wealth, reputation and power. People adjusted to those situation prefer to pursue those factors even without concerning about their families and friends. By contrast, for other people who put families as the priority, a healthy lifestyle, harmonious relationship and stable income resource are those elements that contribute to their happiness most.
Personally, I would suggest that happiness, from the psychological perspective, is the feeling of our inner heart. Firstly, a emotionally and physically healthy behaviour is the primarily important element for the pursuit of happiness. Plus, only when the income become stabilised, could we afford our living expense and use it as the resource to support ourselves. Also, the harmonious relationships among relationships among citizens could not only result in the prosperity of a country, but also a driven power o the national unity. It is the same for individuals. The Harmony could be a motivation for people to pursue happiness without hesitation.
Overall, depending on the understanding of happiness and the demands of individuals, happiness could be defined variously and the elements which lead to it could be diverse as well.
