Q: The graph below shows in percentage terms the changing patterns of domestic access to the modern technology in homes in UK.

The line graph provides information about the domestic access by people in UK between the periods from 1996 until 2003. It mostly compares the four most used entertaining technologies at home; CD Playes, Mobile phone, Internet and Home Computers.

In general, it can be seen from the graph, there is a normal steadily percentage increased for all use of modern technologies in varying degrees over this period. For example, CD players use was increased significantly from nearly about 60 per cent in 1996 to more than 80 per cent in 2003. This makes CD players the most popular entertaining device among other domestic access technologies.

Likewise, Mobile phone and internet are shown less popularity than CD players but more popularity than Internet access. The interchangeable relationship between the Mobile phone and PCs is shown clearly by the dramatic increase in the use of the mobile phones from only about 19 per cent into about 70 per cent in the ending year of 2003. On the contrary, the PCs were more popular than the mobile phone in 1996 with about nearly 30 percent to become less popular than mobile phones in 2003 with a steady increased about 55 per cent.

The internet access, though had only a steady increased started with the year of its discovery about 10 per cent into about 45 per cent only in the ending year of 2003 to appear as the less poplar technology for entertaining.
