An increasing number of organizations have allowed people work at home. Is it a positive or negative phenomenon?

Upside: time consuming, cost-effective, environmental friendly
Downside: work-life balance, easy distraction

According to the fact that computer technology is more and more readily accessible and cheaper, there is an increasingly number of people tend to work at home, which is less time-consuming, cost-effective and environmental friendly. However others may argue that work-life balance are broken by this seamless integration.

Indeed, scientific innovation has changed the way of our lives especially how we communicate. There is no need to come to the office or meeting the clients in another city. Emails and online meting make it all possible at home, thereby saving time and transportation fees for travelling. Companies could invest the money to other priorities such as network marketing and advertising instead of renting an office.

One possible drawback of this trend is for those who working at home ma find it difficult to distinguish work and family. Staying at home offers people a sense of relax and comfortable. The person with less self-discipline might not be able to concentrate on work for long which leads to lower productivity and efficiency. Kids, housework and salesman are able to interrupt easily, therefore, getting ride of these distractions is the necessary prerequisite of working at home.

There is another benefit associate with teleworking. The fact is that people, nowadays, use cars to travel from home to workplace everyday. It would take hours even days for business trip across nations. If more and more people decide to work at home, it might reduce the amount of carbon dioxide we produced and thus slow down the rate of global warming and air pollution, which is a potential benefit to the environment.

In conclusion, I would say that for some people working at home benefits both workers and environment. For others, it would be better for them to clearly divide life and work when they work at home.

please give me some of your opinion.
