Competitiveness among high school students should be encouraged. Do you agree or disagree?
- Nowadays, competition is an integral part of every filed and schools are not an exception. It is often seen high school students racing with each other for higher grades. It is agreed that this competition should be encouraged. By analyzing two benefits; increase in overall knowledge level among students and early exposure to competition will show this.
- Firstly, competition at high school level increases overall knowledge gained by the students. For example, students found to be study harder and thereby gaining more knowledge to achieve various scholarships in India. This is due to the basic instinct of people to be successful and achieve more. Such contest will motivate children to study more. This makes it clear why the racing among students promotes more knowledge gain.
- Secondly, the students get the feel of competition at early age due to its introduction during schooling. For example, enforcement of minimum marks for promoting to next standard poses challenges to students. This enforcement teaches students how grading system works and how to make themselves competent. Moreover, since this happens in a healthy environment it doesn’t create adverse impact whatsoever on student’s mind. This explains how induced contesting among pupils exposes them to real life competition.
- In summary, competition in high schools not only raises understanding among students but also shows how real life competition works. Thus it is proved that this competition should be encouraged. After analyzing this subject it is predicted that schools all over the world will continue to promote competitiveness in some or the other form.
