In what ways has technology affected the types of relationships people make?
Has this become a positive or negative development?

In recent days, technology plays an important role in everyone's daily activities. It helps people to interact more effectively and efficiently. However, the impacts it has on human relationships are unavoidable. To understand how technology has affected these types of relationships, we are going to have a look at both its advantages and disadvantages.

First of all, in term of working benefits, technology is considered to be a savior to people who are lack of time. As we all know, in today business world, time is a viral factor in achieving any success, and technology helps to boost that process of saving time into the next level. For instance, without telephone and e-mail, communication and business decision making would be delayed. It could lead to ultimate consequences that the company might have to suffer. Thus, there is no doubt that we need to appreciate those advantages and attempt to enhance them in better ways.

However, the invasion of technology into domestic home has become a controversial issue. Parents, after a long day at work, usually find themselves sitting on the couch and watching television instead of helping their children with homework. Simultaneously, these children also lose their interest in sharing stories with their parents, as they now are addicted to games online and Facebook. For this reason, the family relationships are loosened and the caring between family members become less than ever.

In my opinion, technology development is only positive if we understand the purpose of using it, that is to facilitate human activities and not to surpass human interaction. On the other hand, it is needed for governments and schools to launch education programs to the public about the ways to balance technology in life.
