The graph below gives information from a 2008 report about consumption of energy in the UK since 1980 with projections until 2030.
The graph illustrate data about energy consumption in the Uk between 1980 and 2014 and projected consumption to 2030
It can be clearly seen that energy consumption by different fossil fuels were higher than other source of enery. It is also noticeable that renewable source of energy provided people less amount of energy
In 1980,the consumption of electricity by petrol and oil was 35 g,while figures for coal and natural gas were 15g and 20 g respectively. By 2014,the role of natural gas and coal had risen gradually ,reaching to nearly 25 g, whereas petrol and oil remained most popular source of energy, rising to approximately 43 g at the same period shown. It is predicted that the role of petrol providing people more energy will continue to rise significantly by 50g in 2030 and residents of UK also will experience increasing consumption of electricity by coal, but less enery from natural gas.
At the beginning of the period nuclear solar and hydropower had almost same units in enery consumption,at around 4g.By 2005,figures for solar and hydropower fluctuated, but nuclear began to play important source of energy. It is expected to witness stability in the solar and hydropower, but it will be a bit rise for solar and nuclear only at the end of the period.
