a glance at the graph given reveals data about average amount of carbon dioxide that is emitted by one person in five countries: Italy, Sweden, UK and Portugal.the study was carried out between 1967 and 2007.
it is evident that the amount of carbon dioxide the Portuguese person emitted was increasing noticeably between 1967 and 1977 and increased even more in the coming years until reaching the peak of 7.5 metric tonnes and remained stable at this point.as a matter of fact the Italians' behavior in emitting the carbon dioxide gas followed approximately a similar trend to the Portuguese. Apparently, the rate of emitting the gas in Sweden was rising considerably passing 10 metric tonnes in the first ten years before plunging to somewhere between 7.5 and 7 metric tonnes a decade later in an absolute contrast to the previous two countries.Nevertheless, the following years witnessed a gradual decline. A stable amount of carbon dioxide was been emitted to the atmosphere in the United Kingdom between 1967 and 1977, followed by a steady decrease in the late years.
To sum up then, we can clearly observe that in both Italy and Portugal, people behaved similarly increasing the emissions while Brits and Swedish were able to control their emissions and reduce it.
