What is the structure of an essay

I really require help with my essay making. I have been doing my second year degree .In my university; an essay competition has been going to take place on behalf of Annual day celebration. I am going to participate in that essay competition and I can’t really choose a theme and when I get a subject .When I read other people’s essay ,they’re really interesting. I need short essay points. I request you all to suggest me some ideas and suggestion about how to create an essay .
