It is argued that the optimum solution to the increasing problems of traffic and pollution is increasing petrol’s price. I disagree with this notion because petrol has become a necessary commodity nowadays and a hike in its price may adversely affect the budget of the common man.
Petrol has acquired a major role in everyday’s life. People use it to power their vehicles and generate electricity where other means are not available. A spike in its price would burden commuters who have no other means of transportation. For instance, a man residing in a remote area having no access to public transport is bound to utilize petrol for travelling. An increment in its price would dent his finances unnecessarily. Thus, increasing petrol’s prices is not suitable.
Contrary to increasing prices, as discussed above, there are other measures which may be undertaken to limit the developing traffic and pollution problems. Firstly, legislations should be made limiting traffic in congested areas of the city at peak hours and use of public transport should be promoted. Secondly, steps should be taken to put a brake to environmental deterioration. These may include afforestation and levying heavy fines on industries not abiding by environmental regulations. Finally, awareness should be created among the public to follow traffic rules and to use environment-friendly modes of transport like bicycles where possible.
Having discussed the drawbacks to an increase in petrol’s prices and the necessary measures to reduce traffic and pollution problems, it is evident that a hike in petrol’s price is not the best solution to the ever-growing traffic and pollution problems.

Hello!
This is a good essay. A more personal conclusion would be better. Points are clear and developed. Organisation is also clear, with a good range of connectives used correctly.
The range of vocabulary is very good, with some topic-specific items. However, the range of grammar is quite limited, though there are relatively few errors.
Well done!
David
