Convenience food will become increasingly prevalent and eventually replace traditional foods and traditional methods of food preparation.
To what extent do you agree or disagree with this opinion?

People, nowadays, no doubt are relishing the advancements of the twenty-first century; availability of ready-to-eat or frozen food is one of them. The popularity of convenience meal has become a dominating feature from the last few years in most advanced countries, yet there is no significant reason for the traditional food to lose its positive impact.

In the first place, it is evident that nations always pay respect to their heritage and food are a significant part of any civilisation. Therefore, the majority of the nations keep their traditional food and relevant cooking procedures alive, in fact, they desire to pass it to the next generations to flourish their ancestral norms. For example, despite various continental and western restaurants in Pakistan, people prefer to eat traditional food like rice with curry and fried meat, prepared by the method which dates back to Mughal era. Therefore, not only local people but tourists also eager to discover the real taste and cooking methods of Pakistani food. It thus proves that regional or cultural food and associated preparation is never going to fade.

Secondly, the diversity of cookery programmes and relevant hosting by celebrity chefs is a prominent feature on various T.V channels these days. The audience gets inspired by the local dishes being prepared by their favourite celebrity in a traditional way. For example, cooking a lamb using indigenous ingredients in a clay pot is a great fascination for viewers. Moreover, communities still cherish to have their respective regional food on specific religious and festive occasions, as it symbolises their norms. For instance, in Muslim communities, it is still preferable to prepare special vermicelli, via old technique on their auspicious occasion of Eid.

In short, some people find conventional food as an old-fashioned and preparation as time-consuming; yet, I believe, the spark of modern, handy and fashioned takeaway meals are ineffective to diminish the beauty of orthodox food culture.
