It is argued that the most effective method to tackle pollution and road congestion is rising of the cost of fossil fuel. This essay agrees with this statement because these regulations would encourage the utilization of public transportation and private cars with alternative sources of energy. This issue will be analysed in details exploring other measures to decrease the environmental impurities and traffic problems.
There is no aim in denying that by increasing the price of petrol, the mijority of people would use the public transportation system to reduce their expenditures. The usage of private cars would be markedly expensive and most of people cannot afford its cost. For instance, a recent published report in Asia today newspaper revealed that there was 30% rise in the usage of public transportation in China after elevation of fossil fuel cost in 2015. Additionally, private cars which depend on solar energy or electricity became popular among humans. these cars are more convenient and effective in saving the environment. For example a recent study conducted by volkswagen company showed that young adults in germany prefer these cars as they are cheaper and environment friendly.
Certainly, there are various methods to solve these problems. Firstly, awareness campaigns in mass media, schools and universities to ensure the importance of saving all natural resources. Secondly, a fine should be enforced on the ownership of more than one car in a family which will reduce the figure of cars in the streets.
In conclusion, the cost of fossil fuel should be raised because this encourages more individuals to use public transportations amenities and to use cars which depend on other sources of energy.
