Question:
Today, more and more students are deciding to move to a different country for higher studies. Do you think that the benefits of this outweigh the problems?
Response:
It has become more popular to move to a foreign country for tertiary education. This is happening because students worldwide feel that study overseas will bring them more advantages than study in their homeland. In my opinion, I would agree that the merits outweigh difficulties which can occur in that path.
Firstly, it is commonly believed that studying in another country can help improve someone's foreign language in real practice. To illustrate, one my friend, having decided that he would improve his English in USA, moved there and enhanced it, even more than he expected. However, if he were not so communicative and open-minded, he would not have made his English better. Hence, as it can be seen, how well it will help improve a foreign language abroad depends on a person. Anyway, it is worth trying as well as it is worth seeing a real life and culture of that country which language is being learnt.
Secondly, education of some foreign universities is more valued by many. In other words, employers all over the world usually more encourage and admit qualification and degree of overseas universities, such as University of Oxford, for example. Therefore, it could help one get better career opportunities in their motherland. Moreover, it might help find a good job abroad for those who would like to leave their country for a better life.
In conclusion, having such perspectives as better job opportunities and improving a foreign language in real practice, it is highly likely that it is better to study overseas than in the homeland. In addition, preparation for troubles, which can happen abroad, may make living and studying there easier.
