Hi, i attempted Task 2 first. There was not much different from what i practiced before, but i suppose it was a little bit difficult topic as it talked about renewable energy instead of education. i mentioned the degree of my agreement (which was agree) in the introduction and conclusion. I paraphrased and provided thesis statement in both introduction and conclusion as well.
I had 3 body paragraphs, first 2 paragraphs i spoke about the side that i agree with, which is why i think alternative energy is a positive development. For 3rd para, i mentioned one disagreement but support the agreement at the end of the paragraph.
Basically, above is the structure that i used to attempt this test. Things that i worry about is the whether the ideas are relevant or not, and my grammar.
For Task 1, i was not able to finish it, although i suppose i had written 150 words.
Could you tell me will Task 1 affects significantly on my band score since i didn't write enough key features?
i had sit around 8 times of IELTS test, and my during my last attempt, i got band 6.5 for writing. But i'm looking at band 7. I hope this round my result could be improved.
i guess i would advise everyone to understand the band descriptors in detailed to achieve desired score. spend as longer time as you need to write a complete essay without time limit yourselves first. i find there's no point for me to time-limit myself and produce an unproductive essay. Cheers!

Plin's advice he has given is fantastic so I will quote it below again for students:

Hi,
i'd got the result. unfortunately, it dropped to band 6 in writing. Here's the feedback given.
With Academic Task 1, focus on getting all the details of the graph correct. For Task 2, try to give equal space to each part of the question. Check that your conclusion follows on logically from the body of your essay, and that it matches what you say in your introduction. At home you can practise brainstorming lots of examples (from your country, or people you know) to support different ideas. Adding examples into your writing will make your argument stronger and more interesting to read. Check the linking words in your writing – are you using them correctly? Keep improving the accuracy of your complex sentences and punctuation.
i got band 7 in speaking. Feedback was given as follow:
Try to get as much practice as possible in Speaking in order to improve your pronunciation, and to reduce the need to hesitate. Practice using expressions to link and communicate your ideas. Both listening and reading in English will help you to increase the range and accuracy of your vocabulary and grammar, and to pick up natural and idiomatic phrases. You may need to work on the accuracy of some complex grammar structures, or possibly on some more basic structures, e.g. articles, where you may have particular difficulty.

feedback and advice are currently available only to test takers in Australia. This is a pilot project to help shape the content of feedback and advice that will become available globally at a later stage of the project. The provision of this feedback and advice is to be used for guidance only.
Above statement was provided by IELTS. I believe this is a positive improvement made by IELTS! But, i think feedback given was quite general. it would be great if they could give us detailed feedback.

Hi Plin,
Sorry to hear you are unsatisfied with the band score you have achieved. I completely agree that the feedback you receive is very vague. While they are good ideas, they don't really tell YOU personally how to improve or where you went wrong.
You may find it useful to visit
http://www.passmyielts.com to work with our tutors. On our 'Complete Course' we give unlimited tutor consultations and writing exam reviews to our students and the tutors will discuss your work personally in as much detail as you need and will form a study plan to suit you.
If you have any questions or require any help, please let me know
I'll be more than happy to begin working with you right away.

I found all the new ielts topics in one app. it's called ielts speaking assistant. I had exactly the same topic in part 2. in part 1 and 3 there were 2 or 3 questions that I didn't have in the app, but all other questions were the same. it also has very good ready answers because I always had difficulties with ideas.
my topic for part 2 was advertisement that you saw
part 3 was about advertising
part 1 was my family, chocolate and photos

Hi Olenamysyna,
That's a great suggestion. You can download the IELTS Speaking Assistant app for Apple and Android devices and it's a fun way to improve your skills.
