yes they count it as mistake. However I/m not sure of my answers so maybe your answers are the right ones.

I'm quite sure about Metals

regarding plastics and medicines I did hear them in plural form but the thing is that singular form did fit well the context so...

As I have said before, I did hear the words in plural form,however when I had to write them in the Gaps, they fit quite well in singular form, So I consume that Plastic/Plastics and medicinces/medicine shouldn't count as a mistake

and regarding the Metals I'm quite sure that plural form was needed.

it is very unfair that one stupid letter mistake can affect our future. fuck metal or metals or plastic or plastics. we know the correct answer but only one letter can change everything. i hate this !
