table essay. PLEASE MARK. TIA ;)

Post by bench »

The table compares the annual distance (in miles) travelled by person using different means of transportation from 1985 to 2000.

It is clear that there was an increase in the total distance travelled by individual using the 8 modes over the 15 year period. 5 out of 8 modes dramatically rose, while the other 3 remarkably fell.

In the year 1985, a total of 4740 miles was recorded for travelling using differrent modes. 3199 miles of the total was travelled by car, the farthest, while only 13 miles for taxi, the nearest. The people using “other” modes of transportation travelled 450 miles, the second farthest.

By 2000, the total miles travelled by all modes has increased by roughly 30 percent. The miles travelled by car increased dramatically, from 3199 to 4806 miles, still the farthest, while bicycle and taxi was the lowest, with 41 and 42 miles respectively. By contrast, people travelled by feet, bicycle, and local bus remarkably fell, the latter dropped the most miles, from 429 to 274.
