The position of women in the modern world appears to have improved, with less inequality in matters of pay and opportunity. Yet, men outnumber women more than nine to one in top government and industry positions. Until matters such as these are addressed, there can be no equality between men and women.

As we are progressing towards a culturally advanced society,women seemed to haven risen above all bars in the past.However the question is whether they are actually being empowered or it defies the recorded facts?

Women literacy,all over the world,has in no doubt shown a remarkable surge over the years.Women such as Late Kalpna Chawla,the great astronaut ,has set ideals for the generations to come.As a result of globalization,women are traveling to other counties to seek better education and improved standard of living.

However,it is difficult to deny the fact that women are lagging behind in many fields when compared with the opposite sex.They are fleeing to safer countries to escape rape,hunger and and other similar atrocities. For instance, the demand for dowry in some of the undeveloped parts of the world is itself an example of a male dominated society which has subdued millions of girls across the globe. A true but painful fact is that men outnumber women in politics,economic world,business and number of other fields. In addition, women,in some backward classes,are deprived of basic rights and amenities. They have to face gender discrimination which gives birth to unhealthy working environment.

To conclude,for achieving gender egalitarinism we ought to empower women with education,higher postion and respect.We need to frame a society where women are boosted to venture into advanced fields which will seed a healthier society to thrive in.
