I'm sorry to keep chasing you around from one thread to another, but I just want to understand your case a bit better. What's going on with your speaking? What do you attribute the fall from 8.5 to 6.5 to?

lol.. no problems Ryan..

There are probably 3 reasons:
1) Since I got 8.5 in my first attempt, I thought speaking is an easy part and I didn't prepare well. I concentrated more in other parts, especially writing and listening
2) Instead of smiling and encouraging, the examiner stared at me all the time. It looked like she was not in a good mood. This discouraged and made me tensed to speak fluently and efficiently
3) I knew I didn't do well in writing part which made the scenario even worse.

I see. So it sounds as though the poor performance was a unique experience. Still, rather curious that the mark remained in roughly the same territory on the next attempt.
