grammar discussion - omit "that"

Post by allen_zhang »

When can I omit a "that" that is at the head of a clause?

I googled a little and it seems (that?) there are some grammar rules.

In an Ielts essay, can/should I just simply choose to add "that" in any scenario?

Hi allen,

In case like : I want to return the book (that/which) I borrowed from you yesterday.
that or which can be omitted.

However, using "that" after I think, I believe, it means, it indicates, it implies and etc. is a must.

Hope this is helpful

Hi Guys,

On most occasion I use 'that' and 'which' , still I am not sure what's the difference.

Could anyone describe when it is suitable to use 'that' and 'which'

Thanks in advance
