Few peoepl devote time to hobbies nowadays. Say why you think this is the case and what
effects this has on the individual and the society in general.

My essay :-
A hobby is a way to spend spare time constructively and creatively. From historical ages,
people engage themselves to learn a new skill or art or play game in their spare time.
However, it is observed today that few people pursue their hobbies. This essay will analyse
what are the reason for the same and its impact on individual and society.
With advent of technology and electronic equipments lot of entertainment options are available. Lot of social networking sties, TV and FM radio channels are present to spend free time.
For example people love to browse on Facebook, Twitter,Instrgram rather than learning a new hobby. Another good example is instant messaging services like Whatup and ChatOn. Generally teenagers are using chatting services whole day and ultimately have no time for developing a hobby. With above examples it is evident that, electronic gadgets and internet keep people so occupied that they hardly find time for other activities.
The trend discussed above is very alarming for both individuals and society. People are
getting lazy, idle and lack creativity. As public is glued to TV and mobiles, they are performing
less physical activities which results to lot of health issues. For instance, many countries like
USA are facing child obesity problems. This in turn put pressure on countries health care system.
Because less people are inclined towards practising a new activity , society is becoming
culturally backward.
To conclude, hobby is definitely is an important means of intellectual and all round development.
Individual and society as a whole should spend their time judiciously on recreational
activities and learning new hobbies. If proper attention is not given society may become
bunch of machine controlled individuals.
