what is the correct way to write the date in listening test?

For the listening part, I am always confused about writing the answer.
For exmaple,
should I write August 1? or First of Augest? or 1st August?
Which one is right?

it's dd/mm/yyyy= 30.02.1989

I think you can write either way, but be correct in the format of whatever way you write it. I suggest you use words for the month.
