Topic 7: These days parents are more concerned about their children’s upbringing than before. Child-care training course for parents can be the best way to update their parenting skills. To what extent do you agree or disagree? Give it your opinion and support it with example where possible.
In the past, the children’s upbringing was usually relied on grandparents who had free time and great experience for this job. Nonetheless, with the popularity of nuclear family, parents are now solely in charge of caring their children. This prompts them to seek for outside help in which the child-care course is claimed to be the most suitable choice.
Firstly, the child-care training can provide them with practical lessons. Specifically, the course consists of simulations which replicate common children’s caring situations in order to help parents know how to properly deal with particular problems in bringing up their children. These simulations can replace for the real experience of grandparents in the past.
Besides, attending the course is an opportunity for parents to share real situations and solutions with each other, further enriching their parenting experiences. The sharing can help parents to predict how their children’s personality is likely to change when they reach some critical ages such as the age of starting primary school or the age of puberty. Basing on the knowledge, parents are able to suitably alter their behaviour to children and closely monitor children’s development.
Last but not the least, the children’s upbringing course keeps abreast with changes and educates parents to go accordingly so that children will have a better kind of nurturing. For example, parents can learn from the course how to make children stay away from hazardous effects of internet which were not available in their childhood. Some studies have proved that the control of those negative impacts has a determining role in the construction of children’s personality.
In conclusion, basing on all of these reasons above, I am convinced that child-care training is the best options for parents to enhance their skills in bringing up children.
