Is it true that examiner need to ask one question which is grammatically more complex compared to other questions? I took twice times the exam and both times the examiner (different examiners) asked one question which I could not understand at first, because it was very long question (4-5 times long...

Re: Speaking Section 2 (cue card) question
Thank you! Speaking of Speaking :D , I have comment... It seems that marking criteria is inconsistent. When watching youtube videos of speaking exam, it can be seen that different levels of Speaking can be marked equally, especially for 6's and 7's... I don't know if those are real exams..they look ...

Speaking Section 2 (cue card) question
Is it true that we wouldn't lose marks if we don't answer subquestions linked to main topic of Speaking Section 2? Some IELTS teachers claim that official marking criteria doesn't include directives of marking Section 2 based on answering to those subquestions (why, where, when...); however, it must...

Re: Confused with the introduction
Thanx, again! I would use "I" in Discussion essay in the same manner as you do. When we have to give answer in Argument essay, I would, additionally, use "I" in Introduction paragraph as well... In the rest of the essay, I would use only passive sentences (except if is asked for ...

Re: Confused with the introduction

I am not sure that we would answered directly if we using only passive forms. W...

Re: Confused with the introduction
Thanx for answer. I agree with you. However, thesis is the most important sentence in essay and wrong synonym could make thesis diffrent than one we try to state. I supose that is the reason why Ryan suggest to not change the question words.

Re: Confused with the introduction
Sorry, Ryan suggests paraphrasing as well... However, he gives the advice to not paraphrase thesis (3rd sentence in Introduction paragraph). I wonder if using same words as question ones could influence the mark?!?

Speaking Task 2
Is it true that we wouldn't lose marks if we wouldn't answer subquestions linked to main topic of Speaking Task 2? Some IELTS teacher said that some of his pupils didn't cover those subquestions (why, where, when...); however, they offered high level knowledge (vocabulary, cohesion, tenses,...) abou...

Re: Confused with the introduction
Ryan suggests that question words have to be included in the introduction paragraph rather than paraphrasing the question? The other teachers suggest paraphrasing, 'cause we can lose marks if we use exactly same words as question words... Do we lose marks or not if don't paraphrasing question words?
